Thanks for stopping by - I'm Greg, founder of the old Greg Campbell Wedding Photography and the new Campbell Collective ☺️ I began my wedding photography journey about 12 years ago and have shot weddings around the world while maintaining a stable base in Northland, New Zealand. A few years along the way, my wife, Cat joined me and since then we've made wedding photography our full time careers - capturing the special days of about 500 couples! In 2023, with a growing family and commitments outside of photography, it became clear that we needed to make a change...
So, the Campbell Collective was born!
The Campbell Collective is group of exceptional photographers that we've hand picked to work with us to deliver our costumers the excellent experience that they have come to expect over the past decade. The Collective means we're able to offer top notch service, amazing quality and turn around times, all at a reasonable price. If a client chooses the Collective, we will select a Collective member which we believe is the best fit for the day (considering location, availability and all the other variables).
Greg's New Role
Up until 2023 I've been shooting about 60-70 weddings a year, and while this has been a blast - it has also been a little exhausting! From 2023 onwards I'll only be booking a very select few weddings, while taking on a directorial role of the business to support the other Collective members and also liaising with couples and making sure everything is running smoothly.

FAQ
Which Collective member will photograph my wedding?
We will assign the Collective member that we believe best suits your requirements.
When will I know who my photographer will be?
About one month before your wedding. Greg will be on call to help you until then.
Can I choose my Collective photographer?
The short answer... no. We do the choosing on your behalf.
My fiancé hates having photos taken… can you work with us?
I love it when people ask this and the answer is a resounding YES. We specialise in drawing out natural emotion, and have a few tricks for cracking those macho-men or shy-gals that hate posing for photos (it’s very much a less-is-more approach).
Will there be a second shooter?
Most of the time we work alone – and while we love collaborating with others, we're most comfortable working solo and we’ve developed a style which means we can cover an entire wedding day without any need for a second shooter. If a second should be requested, we can arrange it very easily at an additional cost.
Are you LGBT friendly?
100% yes 🙂
Who edits all the images?
Us ☺️ We have an in-house editor that handles all our edits. She works closely with Greg and has worked with us for nearly two years. She knows our style and means we can deliver amazing images in a timely manor.
When will we receive our images?
Currently it takes no more than six weeks for your photo gallery and eight weeks for your video(s) to be finished and delivered.
How many photos do I receive? Who chooses them?
The final image count will depend on the package you select – the general rule: the longer I shoot, the more photos you receive. I choose the images you receive and I don’t limit the amount to any predetermined number – nor do I make you purchase more for an extra fee. You receive all the images from the day that turned out how I anticipated and all of those are edited to be their best.
What happens to the images we don’t get?
Images that are not included in the album are just the ‘duds’. They’re either double-ups (I can get trigger happy sometimes) or were technically poor images (too dark, too light, someone pulling an unflattering face, Greg momentarily forgetting how to use a camera etc, etc, etc). These shots aren’t worth viewing and are deleted from my computer once your album is shipped.
Wassup with black and white images?
In the final album you’ll receive a mix of colour and black and white images. It’s about 90/10 colour to b&w by my estimates. Sometimes images just look better in b&w and these are selected at my discretion.
Will you post some of our photographs online?
I would really love to 🙂 Straight after the wedding I’d like to post a handful of images on Facebook. This helps your guests feel buzzed out about the wedding for a bit longer, and it shows my followers what I’ve been up to. Later, some weddings are selected for my online blog; where a selection of 50-100 images are used to showcase my work.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, all my gear is insured and I have public liability insurance.
How much is the deposit and when do we pay you?
In order to secure my services for your day, a 50% deposit is required.
Do we need to feed you?
I would really love it if you could feed me please – but only if I’m staying after dinner. I keep myself going on my own snacks and water during the day.
Will you drink alcohol at our wedding?
No, well, not really. I don’t plan or expect to drink any alcohol at any wedding. It’s not my day to celebrate, I’m there to work and while I’m a cheerful kinda guy – I’m a professional and the photography comes first. At a lot of weddings I’m offered alcohol and while I will usually decline, if someone should twist my arm, I would only ever have one drink.
What’s with the storm chasing?
Right, so you might’ve heard that I love tornadoes – basically it’s just this thing that I’m obsessed with. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved thunder storms and to see the best ones, you’ve gotta go to Midwest USA in spring – so that’s what I do!
Have you ever seen a real tornado?
Yes I have – I’ve been right underneath one in Auckland and have seen a few from a safer distance in the USA. The best one was on June 6th 2018 in Laredo, Wyoming! Actually my photo became kinda famous - check it out below.

Sure, weddings are about love, celebration and cutting loose… and on the day we’re there to fan that glorious flame. But before and after the wedding we are all business. That means ahead of the day we’re helping you with as much advice as we can, answering your questions and talking about timelines and potential issues that we can overcome.
