Tristan and Nicki | Jonkers Farm, Auckland
Tristan has been a dear friend of mine for many, many years. We have been fortunate enough to spend time together at countless BBQs and parties, laughing, talking about cars and cameras and have enjoyed fantastic trips away skiing and mountain biking.
Tristan is a happy guy - always up for fun. Never, in all the years I have known him have I seen him as happy as on the day he married Nicki. For me, seeing him, absolutely smitten, but also totally grounded and seeming to just float along with the bliss and splendor of every moment, was a truly moving experience. You know when you see two people that are so totally in love that nothing else seems to matter - there's just this bubble of sunshine that kind of draws in everything around them... that was Tristan and Nicki. Perfection
At most weddings (especially at this time of year) I have to plead the venue to let me take the couple out for sunset shots. It's always just as dinner is served, or just as speeches start, it can be a real uphill battle. Enter Jonkers Farm and Blume and Darling In the printed itinerary for the day - at 30 mins before sunset - a 4x4 excursion to the top of the nearby hill that looks over the west coast.
This is the kind of thing that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside and I think everyone at the wedding felt the same way! Standing on that hill, hearing the cheers from the guests from far below, it was like the whole wedding party was collectively encouraging us to totally relish that perfect moment. And we did.
